Starting his career as a theatre technician and progressing through roles in technical venue management, account management and business development, he’s built a strong track record in driving growth and supporting major production clients.

Stuart Down
Head of Live Audio
Stuart is our Head of Live Audio, leading the team with over 30 years of experience in pro audio. Working across all areas of our live audio offering, he focuses on JBL and Harman solutions and works closely with the Application Team on demo and training programs and education outreach.

Matt Watt
Head of Application Engineering
Matt leads our Applications Team, focusing on the design and support of large-scale installed audio systems. With a background in music technology and a Master’s in Audio Programming, he brings a passion for immersive sound, system modelling, and clever tech like JBL’s CBT loudspeakers.

Before joining Sound Technology, Matt spent nearly a decade as a sound technician at a top London music institution, gaining wide-ranging experience across live sound and system installs. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening, cooking, DIY projects, and watching anime with his kids. -

Joe has two decades of experience in the industry, starting as an area sales manager at HARMAN Pro UK, progressing to Business Development Director at Sound Technology, now at Live. Joe deep industry knowledge and strong customer relationships, he drives strategic growth across key markets, combining experience, insight and passion to support clients.

Chris brings over 15 years of experience in entertainment lighting, with a strong focus on technical support and in-depth product knowledge. Having previously provided global support and training for Martin Professional, he now leads our lighting technical & support team - delivering demos, advice and hands-on solutions across live events, touring, atmospherics and architectural projects.

Rob Clews
Product Specialist – Lighting
Rob is a lighting product specialist with over 15 years experience working in theatre lighting before joining Sound Technology in February 2023, bringing hands-on experience and an understanding of entertainment lighting. Passionate about technology and innovation, he supports customers with technical insight and product knowledge. Rob particularly enjoys on site demos, This could be in a Production Warehouse or Venue, looking at how the live lightning portfolio can work to the benefit the projects and productions they are used on.

Ryan Locker
Application Engineer
Ryan is a key member of our Applications Team, specialising in distributed audio system design, cinema and DSP programming. Holding a BSc in Music Technology and Production from the University of Derby, Ryan joined Live Technology, gaining experience in returns and spares before moving to the Applications Team.

He loves solving tough technical challenges and utilises our team’s collective expertise, making him a go-to expert for clients and colleagues. Tim manages and develops customer and key influencer relationships across the UK and Ireland for Elation, Netron, Obsidian and Sumolight. He provides expert support through technical proposals, pricing and product demonstrations, ensuring tailored lighting solutions.

Robert Dooley
Application Engineer
Robert specialises in technical support and audio solutions covering brands such as Soundcraft, AKG and JBL including the portable audio range. He comes from a musical background and studied sound technology and acoustics through university.

Joe's expertise lies in assisting the Applications and Lighting team. From show prep to technical support, he is the technical department's helping hand. Building on his musical foundation, he acquired a BSc in Audio Technology & Systems, and he has continued to develop his skills both in and outside of the professional environment. This has ranged from digital signal processing and spatial audio to the games industry.
